Outlook --- Pomeroy said 2000 would be a rebuilding year for Troy, which graduated its No. 1 and No. 3 singles players as well as its No. 1 doubles team after winning regionals in '99. "However, we have three juniors that have been to state (Stanfield, McKay and Wisman), a strong sophomore class and two good freshmen," Pomeroy said. "If they step up, we won't have to wait until next year to be one of the top teams."

Outlook --- The Chargers boast plenty of depth, with a large senior class that includes: Roth, half of West's Class 5A doubles championship team from '99; Patrick Turner, a state singles qualifier last year; and Pavlicic, a Yugoslavian exchange student who, according to Davids, is among the top-ranked players in his age group in his native country. Davids believes the team will be West's most competitive in several years. "These seniors have never been on a city or league championship team and we hop to use that as motivation," he said.
