- Parenting 2000: Safety on the Road and at Home, a program sponsored by the Birthplace at Stormont-Vail Regional HealthCenter that provides home safety and car-seat safety tips, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Pozez Education Center, 1505 S.W. 8th. - Boot Camp for New Dads, workshop for expectant fathers taught by experienced fathers, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the NewLife Center, classroom 1, second floor, at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Topics include forming a new family, the changing role of fathers, and the transition from mate to parent. - Parent/Child Playgroup --- For parents and children from birth to age 2 to give the children socialization skills, 1 to 2 p.m. each Thursday at Ronald McDonald House, 825 S.W. Buchanan. - Teen Childbirth Education--- A six-week series of classes for expectant teens offered by St. Francis Hospital. Taught by certified nurses from the NewLife Center, the class covers basic pregnancy education, labor support, what to expect after the baby arrives and helps teens formulate a parenting plan.
