Girls basketball --- Northern Heights beat Council Grove in a Thursday make-up game, but then fell to Silver Lake on Friday, moving its season mark to 14-5. The Wildcats close the regular season at Rossville on Friday and then open 3A sub-state play at home Monday against Mission Valley.
Wrestling --- Rock Creek managed to gain two state qualifiers at the tough Lincoln regional. Chad Winnie won the 119-pound crown to improve to 23-4, while Dan Pray was runner-up at 135.
