Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Wamego. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Wamego. A rosary prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at R.J. Evans Mortuary, Wamego. The family will greet friends following the rosary.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association or to the St. Bernard's Catholic Church Building Fund, which may be sent in care of R.J. Evans Mortuary, 12 E. Highway 24, P.O. Box 232, Wamego, Kan., 66547

Barbara Banks

Barbara Jean Banks, 67, Topeka, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at her home.

Miss Banks worked at the Topeka State Hospital from 1954 to 1976 and then transferred to the state's Youth Center at Topeka (YCAT), where she worked as a cottage parent in Osage Cottage. She retired in 1995 as a service specialist in Osage Cottage. After retirement, she worked for Evelyn's Day Care.

She was born March 6, 1934, in Topeka, the daughter of Nathaniel George Cox and Henrietta May Freeman Cox. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1951 and lived in Topeka her entire life.

Miss Banks was a member of the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Duane Cox, Topeka; and a sister, Carlotte Edwards, Kansas City, Kan.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Miss Banks will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bowser- Johnson Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Richard Billings

Richard L. Billings, 58, Topeka, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

Cornelia Cullivan

Cornelia P. Cullivan, 79, Topeka, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at a Topeka nursing home.

Miss Cullivan had worked in Topeka before she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the U.S. State Department, several different ambassadors and for the secretary of Financial Aid to Africa.

She was born June 25, 1922, in St. Marys, the daughter of Cornelius G. and Agnes Burke Cullivan. Her mother died while Miss Cullivan was an infant, and she was raised by John T. and Mary J. Burke Boyle. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School.

Miss Cullivan was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka and the St. Francis Hospital auxiliary.

No immediate family members survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Miss Cullivan will lie in state from 2 to 7:30 p.m. today at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys and from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.

Edmund Denney

Edmund J. Denney, 91, Topeka, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at a Topeka retirement community.
