Clayton Ramskill

ARLINGTON, Texas --- Clayton Robert Ramskill, 60, Arlington, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at his home. He had laryngeal cancer.

Mr. Ramskill retired from the Navy at the rank of lieutenant colonel in 1984 after 20 years of service. He was a decorated carrier pilot who flew the F-8 Crusader over Vietnam and later the FA-5C Vigilante. He was known as "a good stick." He also was an internationally published author in the field of design and theory of radio control airplanes. And he achieved considerable renown within radio control airplane circles for developing and maintaining a web page for radio control club newsletter editors.

He was born May 11, 1941, in Topeka, the son of Robert James and Elsie Goode Ramskill. He was raised in Burlingame, Kan., and he graduated from The University of Kansas in 1964 with a degree in aerospace engineering.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Todd Ramskill, Arlington; and a brother, James E. Ramskill, Topeka.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Blessing Colonial Chapel in Mansfield, Texas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Frances Walker

CLAY CENTER --- Frances Walker, 100, Mankato, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at a Mankato nursing home.

Mrs. Walker taught school for four years many years ago.

She was born July 23, 1901, near Esbon, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Livers McCammon. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1919 and attended Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina.

Mrs. Walker was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Mankato, a charter member of the auxiliary to the American Legion and a member of the Liberty Club and the Flower Lovers Club.

She married Russell Walker on June 11, 1924. He died Nov. 6, 1985.

Survivors include a son, Don Walker, Mankato; a brother, Raymond McCammon, Tonganoxie; three grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Harmony United Methodist Church in Mankato. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Mankato. Mrs. Walker will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Melby Mortuary in Mankato and after 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony United Methodist Church in Mankato and sent in care of the mortuary.
