Every Saturday in June --- KANSAS CITY, MO.: Summer walking tours of the Country Club Plaza. 10 a.m. Meet at the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain on the northeast corner of J.C. Nichols Parkway and Emmaunuel Cleaver III Street. $5 per person. No reservations needed. Guide will highlight the architecture of the plaza. On Saturday, events start with a pancake feed at the fire station from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. A children's parade begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a community open quilt show at 10 a.m. There will be train rides, other rides, children's games, antique booths and old-time craft demos from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A turtle race will take place at 10:30 a.m. A Lifestar landing and an extraction demo by the fire department will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the ball diamond. A community parade will take place at 1 p.m. with the theme of "Showing Our True Colors." A draft horse pull will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The barbecue supper will take place at the grade school cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.m. A free antique appraisal will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Harveyville Pickers. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
