Extension hires intern --- Chad Schmitz, a Kansas State University junior from Baileyville, has joined the staff the Shawnee County Extension office in Topeka as a summer intern. He will receive on-the-job training in K-State Research and Extension programs.
Schmitz, who is majoring in animal sciences and industry, will help plan and carry out programs for youth, volunteer leaders and community groups. As one of seven interns selected statewide, he will get first hand experience in how county Extension offices cooperate with state and federal agencies to plan and conduct education programs.
Cridlebaugh returns --- Joyce Cridlebaugh has moved back to Topeka and rejoined the staff at Lookin' Good Hairstyle, 2031 S.W. Gage Blvd., as a hairstylist. Cridlebaugh has 32 years of experience. Her services include styling hair, color, highlights, hair cuts, permanents and waxing. For more information or an appointment, call 354-8727.
White Star makes changes --- Matt Corwine has joined the staff of White Star Machinery & Supply, 121 N.E. Gordon, specializing in Bobcat and construction sales.
Corwine was previously was employed by KanEquip. He has an associate degree from Butler County Community College in El Dorado. He is a member of the Association of General Contractors and 4-H. He and his wife, Kathie, reside in Osage City with their four children.
Bob Jacobs has changed territories in equipment and supply sales for White Star. Jacobs has been employed by White Star for 10 years, seven as service manager and three as a salesman. He is a member of the Kansas Contractors Association, AGC and the Holton Softball Association. Jacobs and his wife, Lori, reside in Holton with their two daughters.
Keith Adams has changed territories in Bobcat sales. Adams has been with the company for 30 years, as a shop foreman, mechanic and a salesman for 12 years. He is a member of AGC and was in the armed forces from 1966-70. Adams and his wife, Isabel, have three sons and reside in Tecumseh.
Tim Mesa has been promoted to construction and industrial sales from counter salesman. Mesa will focus on the local construction and industrial market. He has been with the company for 10 years. He attended Washburn University and is a member of AGC and Boy Scouts of America Troop 7. Mesa and his wife, Suzanne, reside in Topeka with their four children.
Steffen promoted --- Dan Steffen has been promoted to scanning manager at the Dillons store at 1400 S.W. Huntoon. Steffen was hired as a scanning coordinator in 2001 at the 800 N.W. 25th store. Most recently, he was the designated scanning manager backup at the N.W. 25th store.
Ragsdale join M-C Industries --- John Ragsdale has joined the staff of the Polo Custom Products division of M-C Industries, 3601 S.W. 29th, Suite 250, as a customer service associate.
Ragsdale assists sales managers and sales representatives in the central and eastern United States to ensure that customers needs are met, including product development and order processing in custom sewing and sealing of product used in industrial and medical applications. He was previously employed as a graphic artist for Precision Dynamics Corp. - San Fernando, Calif.
Ragsdale is a graduate of Hayden High School and attended Tree University in Chatsworth, Calif., and has Adobe certification. He resides in Topeka.
21 Belle hAir adds two --- Maria Burton and CJ Duvall have joined 21 Belle hAir Place, 2107 S.W. Belle Ave., as hair stylists.
Burton is a graduate of the American Academy of Hair Design. She was previously employed by Mia & Maxx. Burton has several years of experience in the hair and specializes in ethnic hair care, including relaxers, dreadlocks and braids. She also does hair cuts, permanents, colors and waxing on all hair types.
Duvall was previously employed at Regis and Mia & Maxx. She is a graduate of Madisonville (Ky.) Beauty College, where she also was an instructor. She has been a master stylist and artist for many years. Duvall specializes in color, permanents, cuts, updos and other unique hairstyles. She is also a qualified nail technician.
