Events

Rossville Christian Church, 411 Spruce, will present "Saving Grace," a two-act play inspired by the same-title song performed by the contemporary Christian music group Point of Grace, at 7 p.m. today. Refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall.

Saint Philip's Episcopal Church, 3860 S.E. California, will have an Independence Day Worship Celebration at 9 a.m. Sunday. Speaker will be the Rev. George Heller.

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4775 S.W. 21st, will present an "Artistic Montage: A Collection of Inspirational and Reflective Poetry" by Unitarian musicians and poets at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Unity Church of Christianity of Topeka, 9126 S.W. 10th, will have a special dedication ceremony and reception for its new building at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Glenn Mosley, of the Association of Unity Churches, will speak. Other guests will include the Rev. Donald Jennings, former minister of the Topeka church, and the Rev. Carolyn Jennings.

Lunch Bunch, a support group for people experiencing difficulties in their lives, will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 600 S.W. Topeka Blvd.

The Golden 55 Plus Club will meet at noon Friday at North Rock Baptist Temple, 2322 N.E. Laurent. Covered-dish luncheon and message.

Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, 3501 S.W. Wanamaker, will broadcast its worship services at 10 a.m. Sunday on KBUZ-FM radio, 90.3.

Vacation Bible school

Calvary Baptist Church, 433 S.W. Harrison, will have vacation Bible school with the theme "Faith Mountain," from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All ages are welcome.

Adventure Day at Forest Park 2002, 3158 S.E. 20th, sponsored by Friends of Forest Park, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The theme will be "God's Promises on Parade." Open to all children K through 5th grade. Call 234-8024 or (620) 443-5132.

Central Park Christian Church, 1535 S.W. Clay, will have kickoff for vacation Bible school from 4 to 6 p.m. July 13. Hot dogs, chips and pop will be served free to the public. Vacation Bible school with the theme "Bug Safari," will be from 6:30 to 8:40 p.m. July 15 to 19. Classes for ages 2 to 12. Call 554-6034.

Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 S.W. Gage Boulevard, will have vacation Bible school from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. July 14 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 15 to 18. The theme will be "Faith Camp 2002: VeggieTown Values for the Family." Meals will be served from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Freewill offering.

Western Hills Baptist Church, 2900 S.W. Auburn Road, will have vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 14 to 18. The theme will be Amazon Outfitters on expedition with one true God and is open to children ages 3 through sixth grade. Call: 478-3080.

Lowman United Methodist Church, S.W. 15th and Gage Boulevard, will have vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 15 to 19. The theme will be "Visit a Colonial Village," for ages preschool through eighth grade. Fee is $5 per child. Call: 272-8921.

Christ the King Church vacation Bible school will be from 9 a.m. to noon July 15 to 19. Crafts and activities available for ages 4 to 11. Call: 273-0715.

Topeka Mennonite Brethren Church, 7620 S.W. 21st, will have vacation Bible school for ages 3 through sixth grade, from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. July 15 to 19. The theme is "Jonah, An Overboard Adventure," from VeggieTales. Optional supper will be provided at 5:15 p.m. for $1 donation. Call: 478-2929.

Bethel Baptist Church, 4011 N. Kansas Ave. will have vacation Bible school with the theme "Surfin' God's Word In Search of Truth," from 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 15 to 19. Classes for children entering kindergarten through sixth grades. Pre-register by calling the church at 286-0467 and leave each child's name, phone number and grade he/ she will be in when school starts in the fall.

Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 S.W. Burlingame Road, will have the "Bug Safari" vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 15 to 19. Call 266-7541 by July 9 to register.

Music

Solar Eclipse will be in concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot at Gage Park Baptist Church, 3601 S.W. 10th. Food and beverages available for sale at 6:30 p.m. If inclement weather, concert will be in the sanctuary. Bring lawn chairs. Call: 272-7771.

Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 610 S.E. Lime, will present a musical "Safety of the Godly, Who Put Their Trust in God's Protection" at 6 p.m. July 13. Call: 234-4422.

Speaker

The Rev. Gregg Wear will speak at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday at Light of the World Christian Center, 3301 S.W. Gage Boulevard. Nursery and children's ministry are provided. Call: 271-1010.

Revival

Antioch Missionary Baptist, 1100 S.E. Washington, will have a summer revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The Rev. Donald L. Parson of Logos Baptist Assembly, Chicago, Ill., will speak.

The Women's Auxiliary of the Topeka Rescue Mission will meet at noon Tuesday at the Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave. Speaker: Jeff Murray, manager of the mission's Thrift Store. Music by Annie Pena.
