Other survivors include a son, Daniel Olsen, Salina; a stepson, Gary Bergmeier, Abilene; two grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Mr. Olsen also was preceded in death by a stepson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wakefield Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery. Mr. Olsen will lie in state from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Hospital Foundation or to the Wakefield Museum and sent in care of the funeral home.

Harriett Riat

WAMEGO --- Harriett Beryl Riat, 91, Wamego, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at a Wamego care center.

Mrs. Riat was a corporate secretary in the purchasing department of the Northrup Corp. in Hawthorne, Calif., for 17 years before she retired in 1970.

She was born Feb. 22, 1911, in Axtell, the daughter of Morris and Jessie Walker Young. She was raised in Belleville and Seneca and graduated from Seneca High School in 1929. She lived in Los Angeles for 30 years before she moved to Wamego in 1970.

Mrs. Riat was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego and the Wamego Senior Citizens,

She married Carl Riat in 1933 in Topeka. He died in 1972. Mrs. Riat also was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Riat, in 1993.

Survivors include a son, John Riat, Florissant, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Marie Williams, Bellingham, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Flush. Mrs. Riat will lie in state at R.J. Evans Mortuary in Wamego after noon Friday where a rosary and and prayer service at 7:30 p.m. will be followed by visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego Building Fund and sent in care of the mortuary.

Gay Richards

WAMEGO --- Gay Nell Richards, 92, Wamego, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Richards taught school for several years in Riley and Geary counties. She later was an instructor and manager of Stewart's Beauty Academy, and she had owned and operated Milady's Beauty Salon in Topeka.

She was born Jan. 25, 1910, in Wamego, the daughter of Lon and Edna Sebring Richards. She attended school at Keats, Kansas State University and Emporia Teachers College. She also attended Stewart's Beauty Academy.

Mrs. Richards was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wamego, Women of the Moose Lodge in Topeka and the National Association of Cosmetology.

No immediate family members survive.

Private services will be Thursday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial in Wamego City Cemetery will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wamego City Library Children's Book Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.

Mary Robb

WESTMORELAND --- Mary Alice Robb, 79, Westmoreland, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at a Manhattan retirement community.
