Mrs. Spangler was a member of the First United Methodist Church, World Friendship, Domestic Science Club and American Horticultural Society. She was a Master Gardner and did volunteer work for the Kansas State University Gardens.

She married John D. Spangler on June 2, 1958, in Manhattan. He survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Elizabeth Anne Spangler, Bryan, Texas, Anne Marie McFarland, Stephenville, Texas, Virginia Louise Spangler, Lawrence, and Kathryn Agnes Spangler, Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mimi Gillette, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Spangler was preceded in death by a son, David Bruce Spangler, in 1994.

Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Manhattan. Inurnment in Sunrise Cemetery will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Girl Scouts of Kaw Valley Council or to the Kansas State University Gardens and sent in care of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home in Manhattan.

Marcia Tyler

OSKALOOSA --- Marcia F. Tyler, 92, Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at an Oskaloosa nursing home.

She was born March 25, 1910, in Parker, the daughter of James Franklin and Effie Sullivan Newbold. She lived in Grantville for 34 years before moving to Oskaloosa in 1984.

Mrs. Tyler was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Oskaloosa and the Grantville Home Demonstration Unit.

She married June P. "J.P." Tyler on May 16, 1946, in Ottawa. He died on Nov. 8, 1991.

Survivors include a son, Steven Tyler, Grantville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry. Mrs. Tyler will lie in state at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa after 1 p.m. Thursday, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Southern Baptist Church in Oskaloosa and sent in care of the funeral home.

Marie Wille

WAMEGO --- Marie K. Sump Wille, 83, Wamego, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at her home.

Among survivors is her husband, Art Wille, at home.

Services will be announced by Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.

Raymond Williams

WAVERLY --- Raymond W. Williams, 87, Waverly, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at a Waverly nursing home.

Mr. Williams was a farmer and carpenter until he retired.

He was born Aug. 7, 1914, near Waverly, the son of William W. and Ida Louise Schmidt Williams.

Mr. Williams was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church in Waverly.

He married Ina Merle Simmons on May 18, 1937, at Waverly. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Raymond Jerry Williams, Dodge City; a daughter, Joy Fischer, Sabetha; four brothers, Harold Williams and Robert Williams, both of Waverly, Floyd Williams, Garnett, and Donald Williams, Marrero, La.; five grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Waverly Methodist Church. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Waverly.
