Glen Daniels

Glen Daniels, 78, Topeka, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at a Topeka hospital.

He was born March 9, 1925, in Rossville, to Earl and Edith Tichnor Daniels. He spent his early life in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High School in 1943. He moved to Topeka in 1946. He was a salesman for International Harvester for 31 years, for Noller Ford for seven years and for Mayflower for five years.

He married Virginia Hahn on May 16, 1948, in Rossville. She survives. A grandson, B.G. Daniels, died Nov. 25, 1990.

Survivors include two sons, Greg Daniels, Topeka, and Randall Daniels, Meriden; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Daniels will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Graham Justice

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Town and Country Christian Church for Graham H. Justice, 81, Topeka, who died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at a Topeka hospice house.

He was born July 16, 1921, in Oilton, Okla., to George and Jane McCasland Justice. He graduated from Asher, Okla., High School and attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He worked as a tile setter in Kansas City, Mo. He was a carman for Santa Fe Railway for 31 years in Newton and Topeka before he retired in 1981.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Medical Corps in Europe. He participated in the D-Day Invasion Plus 4 in France and served in central Europe, Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, the Ardennes, Rhineland and northern France. He received the European-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with a silver service star, three Bronze Stars, a Bronze Arrowhead and a Good Conduct Medal.

He was a member of Town and Country Christian Church, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees, Santa Fe Old Timers Club and Traffic Golf Club.

He married Wanda "Jeane" Foster on Oct. 21, 1946, in Newton. She survives. A son, Jeffrey Graham Justice, died in October 1974.

Other survivors include two daughters, Cindi Gleason, Kansas City, Mo., and Carol Stahlheber, Topeka; a sister, Fern Goss, Stillwater, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.

A Fort Riley detail will conduct graveside services at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Justice will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Parker- Price Mortuary, where visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Frances Lindsey

Services were April 28 at Meyers Family Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan., for Frances J. Lindsey, 87, Kansas City, Kan., formerly of Topeka, who died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at a Kansas City, Kan., hospital, where she had been a patient for four days.

She was born June 6, 1915, in Topeka, to Joseph A. and Leota Johnson Birnbaumer. She spent her early life in Topeka, where she attended West Indianola Grade School and graduated from Seaman Rural High School in 1932. She was a clerk at the F.W. Woolworth variety store in downtown Topeka for a few years and was secretary to Seaman High principal Chuck Logan for about seven years. She had lived in Kansas City, Kan., for about 50 years.

She was a member of a Christian Church in Kansas City, Kan. She had been a Brownie Scout, Girl Scout and 4-H Club leader.

She married Gordon M. Lindsey in November 1936 in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Joe Lindsey, Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Judith Sturgell, Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Alice Robinson, Topeka; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kan.

James Lynn

James Kenneth Lynn, 66, Topeka, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at home.

He was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Gainesboro, Tenn., to Martin Luther and Carrie Edith Gentry Lynn, and moved to Topeka in 1963. He was employed by Fleming Foods for 26 years and currently worked for Food- 4-Less stores.

He spent 12 years in the Air Force, having served in Vietnam as a munitions expert. He held the rank of staff sergeant.

He married Dixie Dykes in 1966. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Shawn Bequette, Kansas City, Kan., and Samantha Eggleston, Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Christine Maxwell, Cookeville, Tenn., Mildred Poteet, Gainesboro, Tenn., and Billie Sue Osborne, New Carlisle, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Private inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Lynn will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Robert McGinness

Robert W. McGinness, 82, Topeka, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at a Topeka hospital.
