Bradley Lynn Barth
Bradley Lynn Barth, 47, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at his home.
Brad was born June 8, 1956, in Topeka. He graduated from Highland Park High School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Barth.
Survivors are a daughter, Christina Barth; a granddaughter, Kaylee; his mother, Nellie Barth; a sister, Freda DeWitt; and three brothers, Roger, Alan and Greg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland Heights Christian Church. Burial will be at Shawnee Center Cemetery. Newcomer Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Augusta Elizabeth Baum
Augusta Elizabeth Baum, 96, Topeka, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Baum was a seamstress for many years.
She was born Aug. 7, 1907, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Ignatius and Alexandra Ostroski Manczuk.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle No. 503.
She married Albert Kaberline on Oct. 30, 1928, in Kansas City, Kan. He died in 1963. She later married Ralph Baum in 1964. Mr. Baum died on Sept. 28, 1989. A son, William Kaberline also preceded her in death.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Rosemary Hackett, Topeka; a stepdaughter-in-law, Helen Baum, Topeka; one brother, Frank Manczuk, Crestwood, Mo.; four sisters, Louise Keeney, Odessa, Mo., Helen Schmaltz, Raytown, Mo., Katherine Rogers, Kansas City, Kan., and Stella McNulty, Newark, Ohio; and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Baum will lie in state after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where a Daughters of Isabella rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. followed by a parish rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Marie C. Guth
Marie C. Guth, 90, Topeka, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at Aldersgate Village.
She was born Oct. 3, 1913, at Greeley, the daughter of John and Louise Stallboris Hastert.
Mrs. Guth was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Over 55 Club, Goodyear Retirees Club and worked for John Morrell & Co. until the flood. She also served on the election board for many years.
She married Robert J. Guth on Oct. 24, 1933, in Kelly. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1987. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Wheetley, on Sept. 19, 1993; and a grandson, Michael Schroeder, on April 8, 1962.
She is survived by a son, Louis Guth, Clinton, Mo.; two daughters, Kathleen Maas, Tempe, Ariz., and Roseann Schroeder, Topeka; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Assumption. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Guth will lie in state after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

John Rodriguez
John Rodriguez, 61, formerly of Topeka, died Feb. 9, 2004.
He was born June 24, 1942, in Topeka. He graduated from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Grade School and then graduated from Hayden Catholic High School in 1960. In June 1966, John earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Washburn University. He was the first member in his family to graduate from college.
John was a retired accountant-auditor from the federal government, where he worked for 33 years in assignments in St. Louis, San Francisco, Dayton, Ohio, Washington, D.C. and Saigon, Vietnam. For 22 years prior to his retirement in December 1998, he lived and worked in Frankfurt and Berlin, Germany.
John was a world traveler and had a wonderful, full life and over the course of his career traveled with his wife to India, Egypt, Russia, China, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Italy, Spain and all of the other countries in Europe.
John and his wife, Sarin, retired to Las Vegas in January 1999.
John is survived by his wife, Sarin, whom he married in Saigon, South Vietnam, on April 4, 1978. John and his new wife left Saigon only eight days before the country fell to the North Vietnamese.
John was a loving, caring, thoughtful, sensitive and much loved son, brother and uncle who was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Jenny Gomez Rodriguez, on Aug. 24, 1978; his beloved father, Joseph "Pal" Rodriguez, on Jan. 8, 1981; and his younger brother, Michael John Rodriguez, on June 14, 2003.
Other survivors include his two brothers, Ricardo Rodriguez, Topeka, and Thomas Rodriguez, Las Vegas; five nieces, Rochelle Grill, Laraine Johnson and Alexis-Havana Rodriguez, all of Las Vegas, Yvonne Rodriguez, Topeka, and Crystal Rodriguez, Phoenix; four nephews, Christopher Niles Rodriguez, Memphis, Joseph Michael Rodriguez, Kansas City, Mo., Darren Thomas Rodriguez, Las Vegas, and Lance Michael Rodriguez, Independence, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Monica Rodriguez, Topeka, and Peggy Rodriguez, Independence, Mo.; plus several aunts and uncles; and many cousins in Topeka.
