Kenneth L. Larkin

MARYSVILLE --- Kenneth L. Larkin, 81, died Saturday morning, Feb. 21, 2004, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Kinsley Mortuary. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery.

Roy W. Moore

LAWRENCE --- Funeral services for Roy W. Moore, 88, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ada, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004.

Oscar JB Nowlin

HOLTON --- Oscar JB Nowlin, 92, of Holton, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at the Community Hospital in Onaga.

He was born April 2, 1911, on the family farm west of Maroa, Macon County, Ill., on his grandfather, Jonathan Blaisdell Nowlin's 70th birthday, the son of Cortez Dewey and Minnie Bell Jump Nowlin.

He served with the 7th Infantry Division before he was transferred to the 352nd Regiment in the 96th Infantry Division (Dead Eye). He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and served as the G-4. In the Pacific Theatre, he participated in invasions at Leyte and Okinawa.

He married Dorothy Longsdorff on June 28, 1935, on the lawn of Dorothy's sisters farm. Old films show that the occasion was fun with them parading by while being photographed. The happy couple immediately left for California, where Oscar worked in large greenhouses.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy O. Nowlin, of the home; three sons, John B. Nowlin and his wife, Lea, of Bellflower, Calif., Stewart E. Nowlin and his wife, Nancy, of Lawrence, and David D. Nowlin and his wife, Sharon, Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Dr. Mary C. Nowlin, Phoenix; six grandchildren, Steven Walvig and his wife, Tasha, of Minneapolis, Melinda Smith and her husband, Andrew, of Overland Park, Jonathan Nowlin and his wife, Jennifer, of Plymouth, Minn., Patrick Nowlin, Kosa Town, Kumamoto-Ken, Japan, Kamilah Sarah Smith, Phoenix, and Eric Nowlin, New York City.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Maroa Cemetery in Maroa, Ill. DWIGHT --- Clyde William Oesterhaus Sr., 82, Dwight, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Mercy Health Center in Manhattan.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Junction City. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dwight United Methodist Church in Dwight.
