Bryan named manager --- Edwyn R. Bryan has been appointed manager of new business development and insurance services at Central National Bank.
Bryan will be responsible for developing commercial and home loan business and will provide insurance services. He also will provide a full line of property and insurance products, as well as long-term care life and insurance annuities.
Bryan has been in the insurance business for the past six years and was formerly the president of Bryan World Tours.
His is a graduate of The University of Kansas with a degree in business and has a juris doctorate degree from Washburn Law School.
Bryan and his wife, Elaine, have three children.
Gould Evans Associates hires five --- Gould Evans Associates, LC, in Lawrence has hired five new staff members in the past year.
Alison Saber is a project architect. Her main responsibilities include schematic design, design development and construction documentation. She recently completed work on Indian Creek Community Church in Olathe.
A native of New York, Saber previously worked at Naomi Leff and Associates in New York City and Schwerdt Design Group Inc. in Topeka. Saber graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in interior architecture. She is serving as executive director to the American Institute of Architects National Associates Committee and is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.
Laura Brunow as marketing coordinator has added graphic support to the staff. Brunow graduated with a bachelor's degree of international business with art and design from The University of Kansas. She had worked as a marketing intern at McKinney Avenue Contemporary Art Museum in Dallas and more recently as a marketing assistant at Alex R. Masson Inc. in Linwood. Brunow's main responsibilities include tracking project leads and in-house design of marketing and communication materials.
Carrie Mabee has joined the staff at Gould Evans as a marketing coordinator. She is responsible for lead finding and tracking, marketing plan management, community involvement efforts and writing for company communications and proposals. Mabee, who previously worked as a traffic manager at Callahan Creek, is a graduate of Wichita State University with a bachelor's degree in communications - -- public relations.
Theresa Roach, a graduate of Cooper Union in New York City, has joined as an architecture designer. Roach, who earned a bachelor's degree in architecture, is working on plans for renovations to Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Ark. Her work experience includes tenures at Bone/Levine Architects and Chroma Architectural Design, both in New York City.
Donna Griffin has joined the staff as a project architect, bringing more than 11 years of design experience. Griffin graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture from The University of Kansas. She has worked on numerous hospitals, clinics and medical suites throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. Griffin is working on the Internal Medicine Group buildings in Lawrence and the new Structural Biology Center at The University of Kansas.
Whaley moves --- Erin Whaley has moved to Egos Salon & Day Spa, 2827 S.W. Wanamaker Road, from Image Elite. Whaley, a cosmetologist, specializes in hair care, natural nail care, pedicures and facial waxing. Her hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Martinez new professional relation rep --- Jennifer Martinez has joined the staff at Delta Dental Plan of Kansas as a professional relations representative. She will assist with the efforts of Delta Dental's professional relations staff throughout the state and serve as a primary contact for the dental profession. She will be based in Topeka.
Martinez recently served as office manager for an Overland Park area dentist.
Bed lining company moves to Topeka --- Rhino Lining by Frizell Inc. has moved to 5101 S.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka, from Emporia. Rhino Lining offers sprayed-in polyurethane truck bed liners. Rhino Linings is owned and operated by Roger and Doris Frizell, of Emporia. In conjunction with Rhino Linings, the Frizells also have R&D Cycle.
Link relocates --- Charlene Link, formerly at Hair Unique, has relocated to A Total Image, 4005 S.W. 21st.
Antique mall expands services --- David Tindall, owner of Washburn Antique Mall, 1507 S.W. 21st, has become co-owner of Yager Refinishing LLC, 301 N.W. Reo, with Paul Vaughn.
Tindall, who has been refinishing furniture for more than 30 years, has expanded his services to include his partnership with Yager Refinishing --- offering services in restoring and refinishing antique furniture.
Wood Valley adds classes for youths --- Wood Valley Racquet Club & Fitness is offering new classes with Wood Valley's Summer Youth Sports Camp.
Julia Johnson, ACE-certified personal trainer at Wood Valley, will teach basic baton twirling. Johnson is a former Kansas State University head twirler and has won numerous awards iwith the National Baton Twirling Association.
