Angie Specht is a self-employed hair stylist at Angie's, located at Hair Professionals, 5626 S.W. 29th. She previously had been the owner of Hair Professionals.

Specht received her degree from Summit Salon School of Salon Ownership and the College of Salon Management. She specializes in long hair and color correction. Other duties include facials, waxing, nails and pedicures.

Specht lives in Topeka.

Hair Professionals hires four --- Hair Professionals, 5626 S.W. 29th, hired three stylists and a nail technician.

Teresa "Tes" Douglas is a master stylist who gives haircuts, colors, permanent waves, natural nail manicures, pedicures, waxing and ear piercing. She received her degree from the American Academy of Hair Design and worked as a senior stylist at JCPenney's Salon for 8 1/2 years.

Douglas volunteers at the Great Overland Station in downtown North Topeka and teaches Sunday school at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She lives in Topeka with her two daughters.

Linda Richardson is a senior stylist who offers colors, highlights, perms, haircuts and styles, wedding styles and pedicures. She graduated from Casters Beauty School in St. Joe, Miss. Richardson previously was employed at JCPenney's Salon.

A past president of Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles Lodge, Richardson lives in Topeka with her husband, Steve. They have four grown children.

Susan Johnsrud is a master stylist with 29 years of experience. She offers haircuts, styles, colors, highlights, perms, waxing and natural nail manicures. Johnsrud's education includes Wilmar Vocational School, Wilmar, Minn., and Washburn University. She previously worked as a designer stylist at JCPenney's Salon.

Johnsrud lives in Topeka and has four sons.

Lena Runnebaum is a self-employed nail technician working out of Hair Professionals. She offers fiber glass and acrylic manicures and pedicures. Runnebaum is a graduate of Community College of Cosmetology and is state certified. She previously worked at All About You.

Runnebaum lives in Topeka.

Jones Seel Huyett hires one ---Leslie Palace joined Jones Seel Huyett, an advertising, marketing and public relations firm.

As the firm's media director, Palace's responsibilities include media relations and negotiations, media research, buying, planning and media budget monitoring.

Palace has more than 25 years of media and advertising experience in the Topeka and northeast Kansas region. As a sales marketing executive with The Topeka-Capital Journal, Palace broke sales records, set contract records, won numerous sales contests and was selected Sales Marketing Executive of the Year three times. Most recently, Palace was the advertising sales manager for The Topeka Capital-Journal.

Palace is a Topeka native and lives in North Topeka with her husband Tom.

Harrah's hires one --- Barbara Alcantar joined Harrah's Prairie Band Casino as the director of human resources. Her duties include overseeing the hiring of more than 50 additional staff for the hotel, new steakhouse and events center.

Alcantar previously worked as the human resources manager for Josten's Printing & Publishing. She is credentialed as a senior professional in human resources from the Human Resource Certification Institute, and graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in personnel administration.

Rebound Physical Therapy adds therapist --- Kathy Selig joined Rebound Physical Therapy, 5220 S.W. 17th.

Selig has been treating patients in the Topeka area for more than 25 years, is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is affiliated with the National Organization of Orthopedic Nursing. She received bachelor's degrees from Kansas State University and The University of Kansas Hospital.

Selig lives in Berryton with her husband, Richard, and their two children.

Designer joins Carpet One --- Leslie McClain will work as a residential and commercial designer at Carpet One of Topeka.

A graduate of Kansas State University, McClain earned her degree in interior design, with an emphasis on residential, and kitchen and bath design. She is involved with the NKBA and has completed kitchen and bath design courses through the association.

McClain lives in St. Mary's.

New antique auto service available --- Larry Schall opened the Wildcat Antique Auto Appraisal Service, where he will specialize in appraisals for antique, special interest and collector vehicles.

Schall has 50 years experience in the automotive field, including service technician, service manager and shop owner. For the past 20 years, he taught automotive technology classes at Kaw Area Technical School. He belongs to several car clubs and has been involved with the collector car hobby for about 20 years.
