Daily Dose: You said it
Topeka Capital-Journal, The, Mar 10, 2008
During the last season that Roy coached the Jayhawks (2003), a Junior Jayhawk event was held where kids got to watch practice, and then after practice they got in line to pose for picture with the likes of Aaron Miles, Kirk Hinrich, Nick Collison, etc.
The Junior Jayhawks (and parents) were instructed to be quiet during practice. The kids were very well-behaved. The event coincided with an alumni weekend, and several alumni were talking with each other in the stands.
Roy stopped practice and came unglued. Rather than say anything to the alumni who were making the noise, he ripped the kids and told them that he would cancel this event right now if they didn't keep it quiet in the stands.
