RETIREMENT RECEPTIONS

Auburn-Washburn School District will recognize distinguished staff, retirees and staff with 25 years of service to the district at a reception at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Shuler Education Center, 5928 S.W. 53rd. The public is invited.

Susan Hendershot and Jamie Hawk will be honored at a retirement reception from 4:15 to 6 p.m. Monday in the West Indianola Elementary School library.

Connie Arno, Carolyn Edwards, John Scollon and Diane Stauffer are retiring from Shawnee Heights High School. A reception in their honor will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Shawnee Heights High School library. Arno has worked as a paraprofessional for 13 years. Edwards worked 30 years as a special education teacher. Scollon was a Spanish teacher for 36 years. Stauffer worked for the 32 years as a business/computers teacher.

Donna Robbins is retiring from the Shawnee Heights School District after a teaching career of 35 years. A graduate of Wichita State University, Robbins began teaching for Shawnee Heights USD 450 in 1975. She taught first, fifth and sixth grade at Tecumseh South Elementary. In 1992, she took a position as a reading specialist at Shawnee Heights Elementary.

Cheryl (Hummer) Holt is retiring from Shawnee Heights School District food service after 22 years. She started at Shawnee Heights Elementary School as a substitute in 1986.

Robbins and Holt will be honored during a retirement reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Shawnee Heights Elementary School library, 2410 S.E. Burton.
