No injuries reported in rollover accident

Topeka Capital-Journal, The, Jun 16, 2008

A two-vehicle crash Sunday night near a busy west Topeka intersection left a minivan upside down but resulted in no serious injuries, police said.

The accident was reported about 6 p.m. in the 6000 block of S.W. 17th, just west of S.W. Wanamaker Road.

Topeka police Officer James Moore said the crash occurred when a 2006 Honda Pilot that was heading south and leaving the east exit of the Kohl's department store parking lot "barely clipped" a 2006 Ford Freestyle minivan that was westbound on S.W. 17th.

After the collision, the minivan "flipped" and came to rest on its top in the center turn lane on S.W. 17th.

Moore said the minivan's driver and three children passengers refused medical treatment at the scene. All were wearing safety restraints.

The driver of the Honda, who was alone in his vehicle, also was reported uninjured.

Shawnee County sheriff's deputies who were in the area were first on the scene.
