Letters to the editor

Topeka Capital-Journal, The, Oct 19, 2008

Also, Congress was warned numerous time, as far back as 2004, that Freddie and Fannie were getting out of control. Many members of Congress, who were in control, continued to take huge sums of lobbying money and did nothing.

It is never one-sided, and as good citizens, we need to be open to both sides of an argument. President Bush is likely no better or worse than most of our previous presidents. Congress and many CEOs need a good lesson in honesty and moral judgment. Whoever our next president is, we all need to show more respect.

And lastly, where does all the animosity toward rich people come from? Remember the old saying: "I never got a job from a poor man."
