Two associates join Harris Beach in Rochester

Laura Accurso and Yohannes Assefa have joined the Rochester office of Harris Beach LLP.

Accurso is an associate in the Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Group and focuses her legal practice on a wide range of general and complex business and corporate litigation matters. Prior to joining Harris Beach, Accurso completed a two-year clerkship with the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, Fourth Department where she assisted with close to 100 civil and criminal appeals.

She received her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law and her undergraduate degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Accurso is a member of the American, New York State, and Monroe County Bar Associations and the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys.

Assefa is an associate in the Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His legal practice focuses primarily on general corporate litigation. Prior to joining Harris Beach, Assefa served for two years as a confidential law clerk in the Appellate Division, Fourth Department of the New York State Supreme Court. He also has practical experience in empirical research, serving as a research analyst for the National Center on Institutions and Alternatives in Alexandria, Va.

Assefa received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, a master's degree from Indiana State College, and a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Irvine. He is a member of the American, New York State, and Monroe County Bar Associations. He is also a member of the National Bar Association, the Rochester Black Bar Association and the Rochester Inns of Court.
