Rochester office of Nixon Peabody LLP wins award for support of

The Rochester office of Nixon Peabody LLP was presented with a top national defense award in recognition of its outstanding support of employees who are currently serving in the National Guard and Reserves.
Representatives of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presented the Above And Beyond Award to managing partner David M. Schraver, and Rochester office administrator Glenda Lusk in a ceremony held Nov. 20.
The award was presented by James Vogel, Col. USMC Ret. and William Wean, Col. USMC Ret. Nixon Peabody has two administrative staff personnel and one associate attorney serving in the National Guard and Reserves. The firm was nominated for the award by David S. Cook, technical support specialist, Nixon Peabody Information Technology Department, who serves as a staff sergeant with the New York Air National Guard.
We are very proud of our employees who are serving their country at this time and we fully support their military commitments, said Schraver. It is with great pleasure that we accept this award. It is truly an honor to be recognized by our country for having well- established employment policies regarding the military service of employees.
The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is an agency within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. It was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve component members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment.
