Research project to highlight first women attorneys in NYS AG's

In preparation for Women's History Month in March of 2005, the New York State Attorney General's Office is conducting a research project on the first 15 female attorneys in their office from across the state. As part of the project, the office seeks information, articles or photographs relating to the following attorneys:

* Margery Cederstrom Banigan;

* Jeanette Brill;

* Emmeline Ferris;

* Margaret Drake Hazel (born in Buffalo, attended University at Buffalo Law School and was in charge of the Buffalo Attorney General's office);

* Julie Regula Jenney (born in Syracuse, member of the Onondaga County Bar Association);

* Adele Gladys Lee;

* Irene O'Sullivan (born in Canandaigua, attended University at Buffalo Law School and was in charge of the Attorney General's upstate office);

* Marie Theresa Scalzo (born in Niagara Falls, attended University at Buffalo Law School);

* Bertha Schwartz;

* Dorothy Smith Rogers;

* Reba Talbot Swain;

* Eleanor Uris;

* Ruth Toch;

* Ruth Warters; and

* Amy Wren.
