Harter Secrest attorneys present at state civil litigation seminar

Kenneth W. Africano, John G. Horn and Karen R. Kaczmarski, attorneys with the Buffalo office of Harter, Secrest & Emery LLP, spoke at a recent seminar sponsored by Lorman Education Services titled State Civil Litigation in New York at the Buffalo Conference Center.

Topics presented included disclosure in the electronic age, preliminary injunctions and identifying and absolving conflicts.

Africano, a partner at Harter, Secrest & Emery, emphasizes his practice in general commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, securities fraud arbitration and unfair competition claims. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his B.A. degree at the University of Notre Dame.

Horn, an associate with the firm, handles a range of litigation in state and federal courts including unfair competition and business torts, intellectual property litigation, derivative shareholder disputes and products liability defense. He received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Loyola University (Chicago); his M.A. degree from Northwestern University; and his B.A. degree from the University of Rochester.

Kaczmarski is of counsel and concentrates her practice in commercial and business litigation in federal and state courts throughout the United States. A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, her practice includes litigating and trying complex breach of contract, indemnification, trademark infringement, unfair competition, and securities fraud matters.
