Art exhibit opening tonight in Rochester

Daily Record (Rochester, NY),  Sep 28, 2006  by Daily Record

At 5 p.m. today, the doors to a one-of-a-kind art gallery open at the Four Corners Building, 1 W. Main St., in the offices of Volunteer Legal Services Project, Inc. on the fifth floor. The Art of Lawyering Gallery will open to the public, displaying a collection of artwork created from wood, metal, paint, cloth, and film demonstrating the talent of more than 25 members of the legal community.

The reception will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. It is free to all who wish to view the exhibit, partake in some refreshments, and socialize with many talented attorneys. Signs next to each exhibit will indicate approximate value, and silent bids may be made. The auction will remain open for several weeks - until the end of the Campaign for Justice - with auction proceeds to benefit VLSP.

Whether you are just curious to see the vinegar grained box (see above photo), beaded egg, cloth wall hanging, pottery, sculpture, photographs or paintings - stop by for a glass of wine and participate in a good cause. The reception is being sponsored by Century Liquors & Wines Inc., Hiscock & Barclay LLP, Mirus Group, Nan Miller Gallery, Public Abstract Corp., Wegman's Food Markets, Inc. and Whitehouse Liquor Store Inc. Glenda Brayman will be providing musical entertainment.
