New York Governor David Paterson announces administration

Gov. David A. Paterson announced Thursday, the appointment of Risa B. Heller as comminications director.
"My administration will benefit greatly from Ms. Heller's insight and experience. She knows the issues that are important to the people of this state and she understands the critical role of communications as we move forward," Paterson said. "I am delighted that she is willing to return to public service and I am confident that she will be an invaluable member of the administration."

Heller is currently a senior vice president at Global Strategy in New York City, where she advises clients on a wide range of issues focused around communications and public affairs. Prior to joining Global Strategy Group, Heller was communications director to U.S. Senator Charles Schumer from 2005 to 2007. She will begin April 7.
