New resource for Rochester nonprofits

Daily Record (Rochester, NY), May 7, 2008

Area nonprofit organizations have a new online resource with the launch of the Center for Community Engagement's new Web site.

The site, www.cce-rochester.org, offers instant access to resources designed to help increase nonprofit effectiveness, including an online library of knowledge sources, a database of volunteer opportunities, a forum for community-wide discussion and links to local and national resources. The site also has information about the Center for Community Engagement, its programs and services, and upcoming events.

Thomas Toole, executive director of the Center for Community Engagement, said the Web site is designed for nonprofit executives and staff members, board leaders, board members and community partners. It addresses issues ranging from funding to board recruitment to executive- succession management.

Sponsored by St. John Fisher College, CCE's founding partners are The Lifetime Healthcare Companies, Rochester Area Community Foundation and United Way of Greater Rochester.
