Jodie L. Ryan, an attorney with Phillips Lytle LLP, was appointed to a three-year term on the board of directors for the Fairport Baptist Homes Caring Ministries Foundation.

Karpus Investment Management promoted Bozena Pomponio, James Quackenbush and Travis Gallton to the position of analyst/portfolio manager, from their previous assignments as investment assistant.

Thomas Zuber was elected president of the Rochester Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).

Dixon Schwabl has hired John Borden as a producer and editor and Stacy Kurtz as an account manager. Borden will handle commercial production and editing, in house and on location videography, and documentaries. He will also edit online and on-the-air video presentations. Kurtz is responsible for the Fairgrounds Gaming and Raceway account and will assist with the Hargray and Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack accounts.

Five Star Bank appointed Deborah Ralston as North Chili branch manager and assistant vice president. She is responsible for supervising all branch operations and customer service, as well as new business development for branch growth in the Chili market.

J.P. Morgan appointed Joseph Rulison managing director and head of J.P. Morgan's Private Wealth Management business in Rochester. Rulison will be responsible for leading the investment management, trust and banking services provided to high-net-worth clients for Upstate New York.

Pictometry International Corp. appointed Major General (Ret.) Bruce M. Lawlor and Ian Aaron to its board of directors. Lawlor is the former chief of staff of the Department of Homeland Security. Aaron is president and CEO of Twistbox Entertainment Inc.

The E.J. Del Monte Corp. promoted Paula Cooper as spa director at The Spa at the Del Monte in Pittsford.
