Shook's Cotton picked to chair e-discovery committee

Chris Cotton, a partner in the Kansas City office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, was selected to chair the Defense Research Institute's Electronic Discovery Committee. His selection was made on the recommendation of current committee chairs and others familiar with its operations and performance. Cotton's selection was finalized by the DRI's officers.

Bryan Cave announces associate hirings

Bryan Cave announced the hiring of six associates in the firm's Kansas City office.

Andrew Brummel, Transactions Client Service Group, earned his law degree from Saint Louis University.

Emma Dill, Commercial Litigation and Labor & Employment Client Service groups, earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University

Mark Newcomer, Transactions Client Service Group, earned his law degree from the University of Kansas.

Benjamin Thompson, Real Estate and the Banking, Business & Public Finance Client Service groups, earned his law degree from the University of Missouri Kan-sas City.

Matthew Wilson, Commercial Litigation Client Service Group, earned his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Maureen Walterbach, Commercial Litigation and Labor & Employment Client Service groups, earned her law degree from Florida State University.

Prosecutor appointed to board

Robin E. Threlkeld, assistant prosecutor in Platte County, was appointed to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board by Gov. Matt Blunt last week. Threlkeld, 36, earned her law degree at the University of Missouri School of Law. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation fro a term ending in April 2011
