St. Louis County Circuit Court's Case.net, like court staff, takes
Daily Record and the Kansas City Daily News-Press, Oct 14, 2008 by Angela Riley
While the state and federal courts were scheduled off for Columbus Day, Case.net decided to take the day off too.
The Web site was down on Monday due to a technical error.
The Information Technology Department at St. Louis County Circuit Court learned of the outage Monday morning but was unaware of how long the Web site had been unavailable.
"We reported the problem to [the Office of State Courts Administrator] but there is no one there who can follow it up," said Kay Harris, Systems Manager for St. Louis County Circuit Court. "They all have the day off. I don't expect Case.net to be fixed until sometime [Tuesday]."
Harris did not know what had caused the glitch with the Web site.
State and federal offices including OSCA had the day off for Columbus Day. Most county offices including the courts were off Monday as well.
Mary Jacobi, public information officer for Jackson County Circuit Court, did not know that Case.net was down on Monday afternoon, since she was out of the office. She reported that the Web site was functional on Friday.
Calls to Jackson County Circuit Court's Computer Services Department were unreturned by press time.
Calls to OSCA's office were not returned as well.
