Mexican Embassy Official to Visit OKC

A member of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City is scheduled to provide an update on the current situation in Mexico for International Trade Services Friday in Oklahoma City. The meeting is scheduled at Applewoods, 4301 SW 3rd St. Cost is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Networking is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the buffet at 11:45 a.m. and program at 12:05 p.m. Cresswell to Address Estate Planning Council

Ronald R. Cresswell, of Locke Purnell Rain Harrell law firm in Dallas, is scheduled to speak to the Oklahoma City Estate Planning Council at their 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting May 25. The topic of his speech is "Medicaid Eligibility and Special Needs Trusts After OBRA '93." The meeting will be at the Hilton Inn Northwest, 2945 Northwest Expressway. Videoconference on ISO 9000 Scheduled Thursday

The Oklahoma Alliance for Manufacturing Excellence Inc. will help the state's small- and mid-size manufacturers learn about ISO 9000 and whether it's right for their companies with an interactive videoconference scheduled Thursday.

"ISO 9000: Do You Need it?" will be broadcast from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to 25 institutions in the state which have partnered with the alliance. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. to provide networking opportunities. Admission is $35 for members and $50 for nonmembers. Symposium for Homeowners Set for May 21

Coldwell Banker Bob Linn Associates will sponsor the first of a series of free symposiums, titled "Empty Nesters: Right-Sizing Your Habitat," from 2-4 p.m. May 21 at Baptist Medical Center Auditorium. Speakers will address issues concerning homeowners with changing lifestyles. Various related businesses will have information for those who attend. QVC Broadcast Rescheduled

The broadcast of 20 Oklahoma-made products on the QVC Home Shopping Network, originally scheduled for April 22, has been rescheduled for May 22 from 5-8 p.m. The broadcast was canceled because of the federal building bombing. The shooting, planned at Discoveryland in Tulsa, is free and open to the public.

The telecast on Oklahoma products is part of a series of QVC broadcasts highlighting goods from each state. The network selected the Oklahoma companies from around 400 applicants and has purchased $394,000 worth of merchandise to be sold during the broadcast. Dealership Wins 2nd Toyota Touch Award

Bob Howard Toyota, 13200 N. Broadway Extension, has earned the Toyota Touch President's Award _ for the second time. The award, presented by Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. since 1986, recognizes those dealers who achieve the highest levels of customer service, measured through ongoing surveys conducted by Toyota. The dealership must also demonstrate excellence in all departments, and also business practices, sales and market penetration and facility appearance.

Bob Howard is one of 271 out of the more than 1,100 Toyota dealerships nationwide to win the award this year. Human Resource Conference Set for May 17

The Oklahoma State Human Resource Conference is scheduled May 17 at the Marriott Hotel. Scheduled speakers are to include Michael Losey, president and chief executive officer of Oklahoma State Human Resource. He will speak on the "Future of the HR Profession." Edward Potter with the Employment Policy Foundation will present "American Competitiveness through Employment Law."

Lynn Outwater, managing partner of Jackson, Lewis, Schnitzler and Krupman, will present "Managing to Reduce Legal Exposure." Richard Pimentel, senior partner of Milt Wright and Associates of Chatsworth, Calif., will speak on "Workers Compensation and the ADA: Issues, Concerns and Solutions." Silverado Foods Subsidiary Buys American Snacks

TULSA _ Honor Snack Inc., a retail snack tray subsidiary of Silverado Foods Inc. of Tulsa, has purchased the assets of American Snacks of Hayward, Calif. Total purchase price was $216,000 in cash plus a short-term note of $24,000. American Snacks services about 2,100 accounts in the greater San Francisco-Oakland metropolitan area. The company will be combined with the Honor Snack operation located in Hayward, according to Lawrence Field, chairman and chief executive officer of Silverado Foods. Allman Wins Carriage Plaza Scholarship

Irish Realty recently presented its second annual Carriage Plaza Community Scholarship to Laura Allman, a senior at Norman High School. The real estate firm created the $25,000, 10-year scholarship fund on the 10th anniversary of Carriage Plaza Shopping Center, which it developed and owns.

Allman maintained a 3.95 grade point average throughout high school while being active in the volunteer community. She plans to study medicine at the University of Oklahoma. President of Irish Realty is John Kennedy, co-owner of downtown's historic First National Center. Teleconference on Motor Systems Set for May 23

The Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech Teaching Factory and Evans Electric Service are hosting a satellite teleconference featuring strategies for success for efficient motor systems May 23 from noon-2 p.m. The teleconference will provide participants with information on electric motor system management and evaluation techniques, commercially available technologies and decision-making tools.
