McCorkle elected national association's vice chairman

David McCorkle, vice president of McCorkle Truck Line, has been elected as a vice chairman of the American Trucking Associations.

He has been serving as a vice president at large for the organization and his election is a step toward a future chairmanship of the ATA, a national umbrella organization for the trucking industry.

McCorkle serves on the board of the Oklahoma Trucking Association and was chairman in 1986. He was founding chairman of the dump truck division of the Interstate Truckload Carriers Conference in 1990 and `91. Other honors Robert E. Craine Jr. has been named "Champion of Entrepreneurial Development and Capital Formation" by the Oklahoma Investment Forum. He currently serves as vice president and a member of the board of directors of T/SF Communications Corp. and is secretary-treasurer and member of the board of the Oklahoma Investment Forum. A 20-year veteran in entrepreneurial development and capital formation, Craine also serves on the boards of Atwood Convention Publishing, Galaxy Registration, Transportation Information Services, Taylor Paper, XRS Technologies and Quantem Laboratories. Mark D. Tatarian, president and CEO of MDT Engineering and Design, has received a regional award of merit by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). He was presented the award for the lighting design of the renovated sanctuary of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in northwest Oklahoma City. The design was also featured in the "Photons" section of the July 1997 issue of LD A, a magazine published by the IESNA. Lucia Perri has earned the certified management accountant designation from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. Those who receive the CMA designation have displayed proficiency in accounting and financial management by completing a national comprehensive examination, met a two-year management accounting experience requirement and have agreed to comply with the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Management Accounts. Oklahoma Cityan Carl Sullivan has been chosen to headline the National Institute of Packaging, Handling and Logistics Engineers' fall forum in Reno, Nev. The institute is geared toward improving communication between practitioners of distribution and logistics by conducting regular chapter meetings throughout the country and staging two annual national symposia. High tech Michelle D. Gannaway has joined ijob, a wholly owned subsidiary of Applied Intelligence Group, as an account executive. She will work with clients as they implement the ijob human resources system in to their companies. Gannaway was previously with Little Giant Pump and Hertz. She also has served as a community services coordinator at Oklahoma City Community College. ijob uses the World Wide Web to provide outsourcing of the recruiting and screening process for subscribing companies and features a structured resume and interview component as well as offering a predictability factor for employers. Craig G. Navarro has been promoted to PC store manager of Express Personnel Services International Headquarters. He oversees all aspects of equipping new franchise officers with complete automation. Nararro previously served as a front office automation representative at Express. Services Mary Ann White has joined B.C. Clark Jewelers at the Penn Square Mall location. She is a certified gemologist/appraiser and has 35 years of experience in the jewelry field. White was formerly manager of Frederick Fisher Jewelers in Tucson, Ariz. She worked at the family-owned White Jewelry Store in Nevada for twenty-six years and has also served as president of Tucson's Executive Women International Organization.
