Louis Dreyfus names Barnett to firm's board

OKLAHOMA CITY (JR) -- Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas announced that E. William Barnett, senior counsel of Baker & Botts, L.L.P. law firm, has joined its board of directors.

Barnett, who served as managing partner of the firm from 1984 to 1998, is chairman of the board of trustees for Rice University and is also active as a trustee, director and consultant in numerous business, civic and educational organizations in the Houston area.

"We are fortunate to have a person of Bill's caliber join our board and look forward to having the benefit of his experience and background in future board activities," stated Simon Rich, chairman of the board of directors of Louis Dreyfus.

Louis Dreyfus is an independent energy company engaged in the acquisition, development, exploration, production and marketing of natural gas and crude oil.
