Almost 250 to take attorney's oath

OKLAHOMA CITY (JR) -- Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Hardy Summers will administer the "Oath of Attorney" at 2 p.m. today at St. Luke's United Methodist church to 249 applicants who took the Oklahoma bar examination in July.

A total of 308 applicants took the examination. Four applicants lack admission requirements and will be admitted when requirements are completed.

The passing rate for the exam was 83 percent.

Results by law school included:

* University of Oklahoma: 91 of 107 applicants were successful for a passing rate of 85 percent.

* Oklahoma City University: 57 of 70 applicants were successful for a passing rate of 82 percent.

* University of Tulsa: 64 of 85 applicants were successful for a passing rate of 76 percent.

* Other schools: 41 of 46 applicants were successful for a passing rate of 90 percent.
