Esker subsidiary launches updated software version
Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Mar 13, 2000
MADISON, Wis. (JR) -- Persoft, a subsidiary of the French software developer Esker, has released an updated version of its Persona Web- to-host connectivity software for secure remote access.
Esker's North American sales office works out of Stillwater. Persoft is based in Madison.
Persona 4.3 delivers reports generated from host sessions in Adobe portable document format, the open de facto standard for electronic document distribution worldwide. This reduces paper costs and labor associated with printing reports from 3270 or 5250 host sessions.
"Remote access users who have not been happy with their print solution will be really excited about this release," says Elliott Smith, the Persona senior product manager for Persoft. "Persona version 4.3 provides a `paperless' print capability by securely delivering reports in PDF format, allowing for a more efficient use of a report than is possible by just sending it to paper. Persona users can now print, search for text strings within a document, zoom and store reports locally. Any remote user of terminal emulation software that has ever been concerned with the exposure of an unsecured print stream or just frustrated with printing tasks in general will find Persona to be an ideal solution."
Persona version 4.3 will ship this month. A 10-user version of Persona version 4.3 is $1,995.
