CableRep appoints Yoder general sales manager

Douglas Yoder has been appointed general sales manager for CableRep Oklahoma City.

Yoder is responsible for advertising sales and inventory management in Oklahoma City for CableRep Advertising, the advertising sales division of Cox Communications. He has experience in the television business at KTAL TV, an NBC affiliate in Shreveport, La., as general sales manager and vice president and general manager.

He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas.

Oneok elects Monnet

Beverly Monnet has been elected vice president, controller and chief accounting officer of Oneok Inc. and all divisions and subsidiaries effective July 1. Monnet, 42, will report to Jim Kneale, senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. Monnet joined ONEOK in 1987 as a revenue accountant. She is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.

Changes in Shawnee

John Tucker, publisher of The Shawnee News-Star for more than 18 years, has left the newspaper to pursue other interests. The announcement was made by Mike Hengel, manager of the southern region of the Community Newspaper Division of Morris Communications Corp.

Mike McCormick, executive editor of the News-Star, was named interim manager and will serve until a successor to Tucker is named, Hengel said. McCormick, who has been an employee of the newspaper for nearly 34 years, has served as executive editor since November 1998. He served as managing editor from March 1991 after holding various reporting and editor positions.

Bertram joins

Michael Group

Matthew Bertram has joined the Michael Group as communications specialist and software designer.

Bertram is a Microsoft certified solution developer. He was with Inventrix Consulting of Oklahoma City as a software developer.

Gubernatorial appointments

Gov. Frank Keating has announced several appointments to state boards and commissions.

Linda Andrews, Yukon, was reappointed to the board of Private Vocational Schools to a term ending July 1, 2007. Senate confirmation is required.

Robert Burton Sr. was named to the Board of Regents of Tulsa Community College to serve a term ending June 30, 2006, succeeding Lawrence Reed, who resigned. Senate confirmation is required.

Andrea Chancellor, Tulsa, and Lisa Harbison, Muskogee, were named to the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority. Chancellor will serve a term ending June 30, 2006, succeeding Mac Maguire, who resigned. Harbison will serve a term ending June 30, 2008, succeeding Gene Wallace. Senate confirmation is required.

Mark Hanstein, Oklahoma City, was named to a new position on the Professional Boxing Commission to serve a term ending June 30, 2003. Senate confirmation is required.

Bill Tall Bear, Thomas, was reappointed to the Oklahoma Tribal Transportation Council to serve a term ending Jan. 11, 2003.

Joseph Harris, Lawton, and Charles Brown, Edmond, were appointed to the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors to serve terms ending July 1, 2006.

Rep. Susan Winchester, Chickasha, was named and Steve de Quevado, Edmond, and Dilbert Rice, Tulsa, were reappointed to the Employee Assistance Program to serve terms ending July 1, 2003. Winchester succeeds Robert Schmid.

Robert Holland Jr., Edmond, was named to the Executive Bond Oversight Commission to serve a term ending Jan. 13, 2003, succeeding Rob Luke, who resigned.

Karen Jennings, El Reno, and Donald Brewer, Broken Arrow, were reappointed to the Radiation Management Advisory Council. Jennings will serve a term ending July 1, 2003, and Brewer will serve a term ending July 1, 2004.

Keith Kisling, Burlington, was reappointed to the Oklahoma Wheat Commission to serve a term ending June 30, 2006.

Nolonda Lightfoot, Norman, was named to the Governor's Homeless Advisory Council to serve a term ending Jan. 13, 2003, succeeding David Archibald.

B.J. Nevels, Norman, was named to the Oklahoma Rehabilitation Council to serve a term ending Sept. 1, 2002, succeeding Steve Huffstutter.

Michael Wright, Norman; Don Ramsey, Jones, and Dean Smith, Hydro, were reappointed to the Industry Advisory Committee. Wright will serve a term ending July 1, 2004; Ramsey will serve a term ending July 1, 2002, and Smith's term will end July 1, 2003.

Raymond Smith, Edmond, was named to the State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners to serve a term ending July 1, 2006, succeeding William Jones.

Thomas Throop, Ponca City, was reappointed to the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Research, Marketing and Safety Commission to serve a term ending July 1, 2004.

Appointed at Rose State

Connie Howell, Lee Ison and James Long, all of Midwest City, have been appointed trustees to the Rose State College Foundation Board.

Howell, a former Rose State student, is an employee of Boeing Co. Long, also a former Rose State student, is with Investment Centers of America. He serves the college as an adjunct business professor.

Ison, a surgeon, is a former member of the Foundation Board of Trustees, serving from 1980-84.

Gandall elected

Georgia Gandall as president of Contact Crisis Helpline's board of directors for a third year.
