Architectural Antiques

Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Feb 15, 2002 by Matt Maile The Journal Record

In another section of the Oklahoma City warehouse, Smithschick has on display an entire interior of a 19th century drugstore. The complete walnut walls and shelves of what once was an apothecary still show storage drawers labeled with medicinal chemicals of the period.

Smithschick had the San Francisco drugstore disassembled in two weeks, then shipped in two 24-foot trucks to the Oklahoma City warehouse.

Smithschick said several visitors to his warehouse have offered to buy parts of the apothecary. He's refused to sell, however, in the hope that a buyer will step forward who will preserve the entire structure.
