Two OKC companies rank among best in franchising

Entrepreneur magazine has ranked Sonic No. 10 and Express Personnel Services No. 84 on its 2003 Franchise 500 listing. Sonic and Express are both based in Oklahoma City.

Other Oklahoma companies making the magazine's annual list of the 500 top franchising companies included Glamour Shots Licensing, No. 369; CD Warehouse, No. 377, Golf USA, No. 403; and Garfield's Restaurant and Pub, No. 483.

Express also was listed as No. 1 among staffing franchises in the Franchise 500.

The rankings were published in the magazine's April issue. Companies were ranked based on financial strength and stability, growth rate and system size. Other determining factors include the number of years in business and length of time it began franchising; start-up costs; litigation; percentage of terminations; and whether the company provides financing.

Subway was ranked No. 1. Curves for Women was ranked No. 2. and 7- Eleven was No. 3. McDonald's was No. 4; Jani-King, No. 5; Taco Bell, No. 6; Quizno's Franchise Co., No. 7; Super 8 Motels, No. 8 and Jackson Hewitt Tax Service was No. 9.
