Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Dec 15, 2003 by Journal Record staff

Cox Communications is now offering digital telephone service in El Reno, Mustang and Yukon.

Cox was already offering the service in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Del City, Midwest City, Bethany, Spencer, Nichols Hills, The Village and Warr Acres.

Cox was one of the first cable television companies to offer local telephone service after the 1996 Telecommunications Act, which allowed cable television companies to enter into the local telephone business for the first time.

We're pleased to offer our El Reno, Mustang and Yukon customers quality phone service, packaged with a host of other broadband services for better choice and value, said Dave Bialis, vice president and general manager of Cox Communications Oklahoma. Customers can order all of their telecommunications products from us - and receive it all on one bill.

Cox customers pay $12.36 per month for Cox Digital Telephone. A second phone line is $9.20 per month. Cox also provides long distance.

Cox has nearly 520,000 customers statewide and more than 1,900 employees.
