OKC-based Fred Jones Enterprises acquires majority interest in

Fred Jones Enterprises acquired majority interest in Macon, Ga.- based Global Parts Distribution LLC, a wholesale distributor of automotive air conditioning parts. Oklahoma City-based Fred Jones Enterprises is a manufacturer and distributor of automotive parts.

This acquisition strongly positions Fred Jones Enterprises in the national automotive air conditioning industry, said Fred Hall, chairman of the Fred Jones Cos. The innovation of Global Parts Distribution to convert volumes of catalogs into an easy-to-use electronic format will strengthen our distribution centers by providing a wider range of parts and services. As the first acquisition not related to dealerships, this purchase places Fred Jones squarely in the after-market industry.

Global Parts Distribution developed a digital catalog program to electronically locate air conditioning parts by make, model or year.

This acquisition is a great strategic move for Global Parts Distribution, said Doug Hines, the company's president. Global Parts Distribution will retain its name and employees.
