OKC businessman reappointed chairman of Federal Reserve Bank of K.C.

Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Nov 28, 2005 by Journal Record Staff

The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced the appointment of the chairmen and deputy chairmen of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks for 2006. Robert A. Funk, founder and CEO of Express Personnel Services, was reappointed to the position of chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and its branches in Denver, Oklahoma City and Omaha, Neb., serve the 10th Federal Reserve District. The district includes Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, northern New Mexico and the western third of Missouri.

The Reserve Bank has a nine-member board of directors. The Board of Governors in Washington appoints three of these directors and each year designates one of its appointees as chairman and a second as deputy chairman.

I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to serve in this capacity, said Funk. The Kansas City branch represents many diverse economies and I will strive to make sure that every voice in business is heard.

Key decision-makers in the business community provide anecdotal information which is shared with the larger Fed body, Funk added. This knowledge, combined with current employment data, portrays an accurate picture of the region's economic trends.
