Minority business forum for contracting with OK government agencies

A business forum on qualifying minority businesses for certification for contracts with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and other government agencies is scheduled at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at Langston University, 4201 N. Lincoln Blvd., in Oklahoma City.

Marilyn Murrell, president, Team One Consultants, Inc. will be the featured speaker. Team One is a special consultant for certification and contracting assistance to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation awards $350 million per year in federal highway contracts, with a goal of awarding 8.4 percent to minority and women-owned businesses.

Marvin Fisher, director of Langston University's Small Business Development Center, will make a presentation on U.S. Small Business Administration certifications.

The forum is free. Co-sponsors are Team One Consultants, the Capitol Chamber and Langston University.
