McDonald's to team up with breast cancer foundation
Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Jul 21, 2006 by Journal Record Staff
Seventy-four Tulsa-area McDonald's restaurants will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of baked apple pies this weekend to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which funds breast cancer research, education and awareness efforts in northeastern Oklahoma.
This marks the third-straight year McDonald's has partnered with the foundation's Tulsa affiliate. McDonald's officials expect to raise more than $10,000 this weekend. Last year, the restaurants raised $13,600.
McDonald's is a fantastic partner in the fight against breast cancer, said Christy Southard, executive director of the foundation's Tulsa affiliate. The funds raised from this promotion will increase our ability to reach out and educate many more Tulsa- area women and their families about breast cancer.
