Cameron University in Lawton receives Chesapeake donation
Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Apr 5, 2007
Cameron University has received a $25,000 pledge from Chesapeake Energy Corp. for student scholarships as part of the "Cameron University: Changing Lives" campaign.
The $25,000 pledge is not the first time Chesapeake has contributed to Cameron. In 2005, Chesapeake was a $5,000 event sponsor for the Leadership Forum Luncheon with Duke University Men's Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski. The event raised about $70,000 for the President's Distinguished Scholarship.
Chesapeake's donation brings the total raised or pledged for the Changing Lives campaign to 92 percent of the $8.5 million goal.
