Okla. Leadership in Law profile: Hon. Robert Bacharach, U.S.

Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), May 1, 2007

Since he was a young teenager, Robert Bacharach knew the career path he would take. Practicing law would allow him to combine his fascination with notorious legal cases and debate.

After receiving his bachelor's degree in history from the University of Oklahoma and his law degree from Washington University at St. Louis, Bacharach entered the legal profession in 1985 as a law clerk to Hon. William J. Holloway Jr., chief judge of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

"Judge William J. Holloway Jr. and Dean Stringer are the greatest influences on my professional life because they are such honorable men," said Bacharach, who advises today's aspiring lawyers to seek good professional mentors at every stage of life.

He joined Crowe & Dunlevy in 1987 and was named a shareholder and director of the Oklahoma City law firm in 1995. In 1999, Bacharach left private practice to become a U.S. magistrate judge with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.

Bacharach currently serves on the board of the Oklahoma County Bar Association and chairs the Local Civil Rules Committee and A.D.R. Advisory Group for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. He also is a former president of the Oklahoma City chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

In 2006, Bacharach received the Federal Bar Association's Earl W. Kintner Award and Special President's Award.

In addition to his professional career, Bacharach has volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Oklahoma City and has served on the board of trustees of Temple B'nai Israel.

As for Bacharach's future goals, he simply puts it - "to improve."
