Cameron Univ. in Lawton receives Pillar of Support donation
Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), May 3, 2007
Cameron University received a $30,000 gift from Jim and Melanie Eason as part of the "Cameron University: Changing Lives" campaign.
The Easons own and operate Southwest Sales and several other Lawton businesses. Their support of Cameron dates back to 1989 when they became members of the CU President's Partners in the group's inaugural year.
Contributions at the Pillar of Support level allow donors to make a significant commitment to the campaign and spread the donation over a three-year period at a rate of $10,000 per year. To honor the gifts, plaques recognizing contributors as a Pillar of Support will mark the pillars supporting the new student activities complex.
The donation increases total raised or pledged for construction of the complex to $5.9 million, 92 percent of the $6.5 million goal.
