Tulsa-based PennWell Corp. acquires Utility Products magazine

PennWell Corp. has acquired Utility Products magazine from TKM Communications Inc., based in Birmingham, Ala.
Utility Products is a monthly business-to-business publication with circulation of 50,000 covering the power, telecommunications and cable television product markets. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
The sales and editorial staffs of the publication will remain in Birmingham under the management of Michael Grossman, group publisher, who is based in PennWell's Tulsa headquarters. Brig Bearden, founder of Utility Products and president of TKM Communications, will serve as publisher emeritus.
Utility Products will complement PennWell's electric power industry trade magazines, Electric Light & Power and Utility Automation & Engineering T&D.
