Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Jun 12, 2007

Allstate invested $160.7 million in municipal bonds in Oklahoma during 2006.

"Municipal bonds finance the infrastructure of communities including affordable housing, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, sewers and roads," said Mike Clark, Allstate Southwest Region field vice president. "Investing in municipal bonds aligns with Allstate's corporate philosophy to help strengthen communities while providing the company and its shareholders with stable returns on their investments."

In addition to Allstate's investments in municipal bonds, the Allstate Foundation contributed $68,500 to charitable organizations throughout Oklahoma in 2006 supporting programs aimed at teaching diversity, educating home buyers, promoting teen safe driving and training volunteers for disaster response.

Allstate employees, agents and personal financial representatives donated about $55,000 to nonprofit organizations throughout the Southwest Region through the company's annual giving campaign. Allstate has 193 exclusive agents and personal financial representatives and 134 employees in Oklahoma.
