Tulsa-based Alliance Resource Partners reports slight increase in

Alliance Resource Partners on Monday reported net income for the third quarter of $38.7 million, or 83 cents per diluted partner unit, up from $38.6 million, or 88 cents per diluted unit, for the third quarter of 2006.

Revenues for the quarter increased 6.5 percent to $260.5 million from $244.7 million a year earlier.

The Tulsa-based operator of eight underground coal mining complexes in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and West Virginia reported net income for the first nine months of 2007 of $130.5 million, up 2.4 percent from $127.4 million for the first nine months of 2006.

Revenues for the first nine months of the year totaled $780.9 million, up 10.9 percent from $704.4 million a year earlier.

The board of directors of Alliance Resource Partners' managing general partner, Alliance Resource Management GP, declared a quarterly cash distribution of 56 cents per unit for the quarter.

Alliance Holdings GP reported net income for the quarter of $67.4 million, up from $62.6 million a year earlier. Alliance Holdings owns Alliance Resource Management GP, the managing general partner of Alliance Resource.
