OKC CPA firms Cole & Reed and Greenwell & Co. merge

Two Oklahoma City certified accounting firms - Cole & Reed and Greenwell & Co. - have merged.

The combined firms will operate as Cole & Reed. David Greenwell will be a shareholder and all 10 of the Greenwell employees will stay with the firm and work out of Cole & Reed's existing office at 531 Couch Dr.

"We're excited about the level of experience and tax expertise David and his people bring to Cole & Reed," said Jim Denny, managing partner. "This merger is a natural step for us to expand our ability to bring clients the highest level of tax planning and advice possible. It will also increase our presence in the oil and gas industry, which is a goal for our firm."

Founded in the 1950s, the firm has been through mergers and reorganizations and began operating as Cole & Reed in 1988.

Greenwell founded Greenwell & Co. in 1998 after practicing with one of the large national CPA firms.
