Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), May 22, 2008

Oklahoma City University School of Law will sponsor a special climate change seminar in Philadelphia for business leaders in June in conjunction with national law firm Cozen O'Connor.

The seminar, "The Risks and Opportunities of Climate Change," is scheduled June 17 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Speakers will include Fred Krupp, Environmental Defense Fund president and author of Earth: The Sequel-The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming.

"Climate change has emerged as the preeminent challenge of the 21st century. It requires the attention of governments and business leaders at all levels and throughout the world," said Lawrence Hellman, law dean at OCU.

"Our law school has a rich history of producing leaders in the field of energy law and regulation, and we welcome this unique opportunity to be involved in the development of sound and sustainable energy and environmental policies to address this unprecedented challenge," Hellman said. "The seminar will provide a forum for discussing various approaches for dealing with climate change, and the legal and regulatory responses that may arise from those approaches."
